EASTER MORMON MESSAGES.

Hope your Sunday has been a good one. We've got two napping girls this afternoon, and that makes for a few peaceful minutes around here.

Thought I would share two wonderful Easter Mormon Messages. Both are very good.

FREED FROM ADDICTION.

I am making my way to the end of the conference Ensign and finally read Elder Ballard's talk from the October session. Not sure how I missed it the first go round, but it was very good. Then, I saw that it was recently used in a new Mormon Message.
You can read the entirety of Elder Ballard's talk here.

UNSELFISH SERVICE.

When all is said and done, the thousands of diapers, the sleepless nights and long days, the hours of story time, difficult bed times, nights of homework, hours spent on soccer fields, fights over cell phones and car keys, tears of frustration, and of not knowing what to do, will all be worth it--because it will have brought us closer to the Savior.

That's a nice promise to have.

LIFTING BURDENS.

http://lds.org/pages/lifting-burdens?lang=eng
I didn't make it to Church this past Sunday. Sick kids and extenuating circumstances, didn't allow for my weekly worship. I was surprised at the disappointment I felt as I realized that we wouldn't be going. I guess I have developed a testimony over the years of the blessings of being in Church each week and longed to be there.

As my children napped, I perused LDS.org and was touched by this sweet Mormon Ad about lifting burdens. As I listened to the testimonies shared by our modern-day prophets my heart and home were filled with the peace of knowing that Jesus Christ lives.

I don't often share, in this forum, the details of my testimony, but feel that this message encompasses my thoughts about the Savior. I have felt the relief of the Atonement firsthand and know the peace that only His gospel can bring.

I hope you'll love it too.

ICED IN.

Photobucket
We are iced in here in Dallas for the third day in a row. Never have we needed the sun more! We did escape yesterday to Costco once Jimmy got home at the rip-roaring speed of 15 mph. The place was dead, but it did feel nice to get out. It's not looking good for the thousands of visitors headed to Dallas for the Superbowl this weekend.

In the meantime, I've been harnessing all of my creative juices with my little girls. Bubbles, painting, play-doh, playing in cardboard boxes--I feel as if we've done it all.

I've posted about this favorite talk of Elder Uchtdorf's before, "Continue in Patience", but I just discovered this Mormon Message. I love how they've portrayed this talk and it is a good reminder to me today to, Continue in Patience. Whatever our circumstances, we can all use a little more patience.
What about you? Are you feeling the effects of this arctic storm?

LOOKING FORWARD.

We are looking forward to a busy and exciting 2011. A year that will bring a graduation, an across-the-ocean move, new friends, and I'm sure many unexpected adventures that are life. As we are embracing the new year, I really appreciate the message of this recent Mormon Message on Youtube.

Today is a great day to start looking forward.

KIDS & CHRISTMAS.

And, as a reminder, tonight is the First Presidency Christmas Devotional, at 6 p.m. MST. It will include messages from the first presidency and music by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Always a great way to get into the Christmas spirit.

Hope your weekend has been a good one.

THANKFUL THOUGHTS.

I spotted yet another Mormon Message on gratitude. It looks new, by the relatively low amount of views. I did love it though, it talks about living in thanksgiving daily and being grateful for even the smallest of blessings. Helps us to find evidences of the Lord's hand in our lives.

Did you know they are producing a new Mormon Message every two to three weeks. I am so impressed with the Church.

This post of fun Thanksgiving crafts made me smile. I am hoping to do a few of these with my daughter in the next week.

Have a wonderful weekend. Yet again, ours seems very full.

BEING THANKFUL AND A WINNER.

Thanksgiving is on my mind. Not only do I want to be thankful and show my gratitude but, I am wondering just how I might begin to teach the principle of gratitude to my little ones over the next few weeks, and beyond. Let the brainstorming begin!

In the spirit of thanksgiving, this Mormon Message really hit home. It's a good one.

And now for a winner.

Again, I can't thank you enough for your comments on music. I have gained so many new ideas and can't wait to start implementing them in my home.

The big #1 is the winner, via random.org. Hannah of sherbetblossom said, "music is a big part of our family. I am constantly singing, probably to my children's chagrin. We sing every night before they go to bed. We sing on road trips. I make mixes of children's hymns that I'd like them to learn."

E-mail me Hannah at mamaswhoknow (at) gmail.com and we'll get that in the mail.
