We got some good news recently. My student/doctor (that's what they refer to them) husband was matched into an orthopedic surgery program! It has been a long time coming, and we are happy to know that he has a future in surgery.
And, to top it all off...that surgery program happens to be in Hawaii. So, come mid-2011, we'll bid the comforts of the lower 48 goodbye and head to paradise. I'm a little unsure of what life on the islands holds for me, so if you have any experience, I'd love to hear.
We are headed off later today for a white Christmas, hopefully. The last of our long Christmas breaks. I'll be back next week with a few last minute thoughts on the season. Have a wonderful weekend.

That is good news! My parents live there and we love it. The people and the church there are wonderful!
I currently live here attending BYU-Hawaii with my husband. It is AMAZING! There is seriously nowhere else in the world like it. The spirit just radiates through everything- the trees, the ocean, the flowers- it really is incredible! And the people all have the spirit of Aloha. They are so kind and loving. It is definitely a slower paced lifestyle and sometimes you can feel a little trapped on a the small island but once you get the aloha flowing through your veins you'll be set :) Congrats to your husband!
That is so great! Congrats!
we just got back from a little getaway there yesterday!! congrats..what a fun little adventure for your family
I remember when we visited my cousins who were there for the same reason, their house was across the street from the beach. I'm not sure if the military housing has changed location but I thought it was awesome. I should ask my aunt some tips for you guys...
I am Milena Barlow. Becky Clinton told me about you, I live in Ewa Beach-Oahu and would love to answer any questions you have about our islands. Welcome to the best place in the world :)
I am a stay at home of 4 and love living here, it is diferent but it is home now. You can take a look at my blog, I always add tons of pictures and talk about life in Hawaii.
