But, as I have immersed myself into the big job of motherhood, there is one talk that has come to mind frequently. In fact, I can recall just where I sat as I listened to the words of Sister Julie B. Beck as she delivered her powerful message entitled, "Mothers Who Know." You might remember too, as it quickly became a controversial topic of discussion in the Mormon community.
It didn't rub me wrong, in fact, I felt quite the opposite. I remember feeling inspired that Sunday morning to become a mother who knew, one who loved and cherished, as well as taught and prepared her children for the difficulties that life might bring. I felt just how important it was to magnify my job as a mother, and to create an environment within my home where my children could learn and grow in the gospel. For them, for my husband and for myself.
I have since felt those impressions on many occasions. This mothering business is a big deal.
And so, after much consideration, this blog was born. A venue for ideas and insights to be shared about how we as mothers, might become better at our most important calling.
Join me as I share my ideas, and learn from yours, of how to become a mother who knows.
